Daily billions of people travel in the train so that the concern railway department will take necessary prevention for the safety of people.

Later on, the Electrical Engines came into existence.These work with the Electrical Energy. The supply lines required to run these electrical engine trains were operated at 25 KV. That was considered as High voltage lines or High tension lines. We may see the workers will spray the dry sand on the railway track.

How the Science Involved in spraying sand on railway track:
The workers of the Railway department will maintain to railway track 24x7 because here the trains were run 24x7. If any problem occurs then there is the chance of trains falling down. The workers will spray the sand on the railway tracks particularly in the rainy season. In rainy season when the rain falls then, water layers were formed between the railway track and the wheels of the train.

If the train runs when the water layers are present on the railway track then there are huge chances of train diverting from tracks and fall down. This happens so because due to this water layer formation the friction between the railway track and the wheels of the train will decrease. As we learn before that even we can’t walk front without of friction. Here if it becomes zero then the train divert from railway track and fall down. So to prevent such type of accidents they spray sand on the railway tracks. This sand maintains the friction between railway track and wheel of the train and protects not to divert from railway track so that it helpful to train to move on.
